Customer Reviews about John B Bassett, DMD, PC
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Dr. Bassett has got to be the best doctor I've ever had. He extracted ten of my teeth when I was eleven years old, and couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating for me at such a young age. Now, at the age of eighteen, I've had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Bassett once again, this time for the extraction of four wisdom teeth. He continues to provide an impeccable service, and shows tremendous care and consideration for his patients. His staff is wonderfully kind and helpful, and he is at all times punctual. One can tell immediately upon talking to Dr. Bassett that he is immensely knowledgeable about all aspects of his field. He is incredibly friendly, honest, and easy to talk to. He ensures that his patients are both comfortable and well-informed, and shows genuine compassion. Even after his job was complete and the surgery was finished, he took time out of his day to personally call and check in on me, to see how I was feeling and to answer any questions. 5 stars, A+. In reference to negative reviews, it is not always the fault of the doctor when complications in treatment arise. Gingival recession is generally caused by activities such as over brushing, brushing too hard, using chewing tobacco, or a variety of other poor practices in dental hygiene. The most common exception to this is the case of genetic predisposition to crowded teeth or receding gums. While I obviously don't know the cause of the case mentioned in the other review, it should be made clear that blaming the doctor for the results of a surgery that may have been caused by the patient's prior negligence seems unfair, especially when you are required to sign numerous forms prior to surgery stating that you have been informed of the possible risks and complications that may occur. Of course, a bad experience ought to lower your opinion of a doctor, but I find it somewhat ignorant to assert simply that he is a quack, and that no one should visit his practice.April 29, 2017by A Google User
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪STAY AWAY. This oral surgeon was needed for an emergency extraction by a family member. He made rude comments about his teeth (which were destroyed from chronic illness) , and lost his temper completely just before surgery. He put his face in my nephews face and yelled; he was so scared he was crying. The only reason we stayed was because the extraction was urgently needed. Is that any way to treat a young patient? At the follow up, we witnessed a young child screaming in fear and pain while Dr. Bassett was doing a procedure. Never have I witnessed such unprofessional, uncaring behavior by a dentist. There are wonderful kind dentists out there, NOT THIS ONE. It was in the news that he assaulted a young client in his office, grabbed and jerked him around. I am surprised he still has a practice.March 18, 2017by Rebekah McMahon
